A Brief Family History of Lustys Lloyd Loom
Lloyd Loom was invented by an American called Marshall Burns Lloyd in 1907, with the invention of a special loom to weave twisted kraft paper into a woven fabric, which was partly reinforced with steel wire. This production method revolutionised this sector of the furniture industry, as Lloyd Loom chairs could now be produced in a quarter of the time it took to make the more expensive and less durable rattan or wicker version.
